The ASTEP Project was Showcased at EuroSun 2024

eBOS proudly participated in the EuroSun 2024 conference, held from August 26 to 30 in Limassol, Cyprus representing the ASTEP (Application of Solar Thermal Energy to Processes) project. The conference, a prestigious gathering organized by the International Solar Energy Society (ISES) and the IEA Solar Heating and Cooling Programme in conjunction with the Cyprus University of Technology and ISES Cyprus, brought together experts, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss the latest advancements in solar energy.
At EuroSun 2024, eBOS highlighted its significant contributions to the ASTEP project. The ASTEP dedicated exhibition booth attracted various visitors keen to explore the innovative technologies and solutions presented. The event provided an invaluable platform for networking, exchanging ideas, and showcasing ASTEP’s progress in harnessing solar thermal energy for industrial applications.
The ASTEP project is an initiative aimed at integrating solar thermal energy systems into industrial processes. By focusing on sustainable and efficient energy solutions, ASTEP seeks to reduce carbon emissions and optimize energy use in industries. The ASTEP project creates an innovative Solar Heat to Industrial Processes (SHIP) concept, based on the modular and flexible integration of two innovative designs: one for the solar collector, the SunDial, and the other for the Thermal Energy Storage (TES), both integrated via a control system, allowing flexible operation and continuous service.
eBOS plays a crucial role in the ASTEP project, developing an advanced dashboard designed to collect and visualize data from sensors and IoT gateways at testing sites. This dashboard, built using the latest web technologies, will offer an interactive and user-friendly interface for near real-time data monitoring and analysis. This technology will aid in validating the ASTEP concept and methodology, ensuring the project’s overall success and contribution to sustainable industrial practices. eBOS also supports the project’s Quality and Risk management activities and the Data and Ethical management, planning and assessment. eBOS’s role in the project is also to engage in communication and dissemination activities and contribute to the development of the joint IP exploitation plan in collaboration with other project partners.
eBOS is excited to continue its journey and efforts towards a sustainable future through innovative solar energy solutions.
he ASTEP project is funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 884411.
