eBOS Participates in SUNRISE-6G 12-Month General Assembly in Thessaloniki

On December 3-4, 2024, the SUNRISE-6G project held its 12-month General Assembly in Thessaloniki, Greece. The meeting brought together all 28 partner organisations, including eBOS, represented by R&D Project Manager Gianna Avgousti.

This milestone event provided a platform for partners to present key achievements and outline future steps toward building Europe’s next-generation 6G infrastructure. The Consortium also addressed potential risks, refined mitigation strategies, and discussed the next phases to ensure the timely delivery of milestones.

Key highlights of the meeting included:

  • Progress Presentations: Leading partners provided detailed updates on contributions toward developing scalable and resilient infrastructure for 6G networks.
  • Technical Discussions: Breakthrough technologies and methodologies were shared to enhance network performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • The SUNRISE-6G Experimentation Plane portal and overall Architecture discussion were initiated.
  • Collaborative Brainstorming: Partners addressed technical challenges and refined strategies for upcoming project phases.

The SUNRISE-6G flagship project is a 3-year EU-funded project dedicated to building a cutting-edge experimental infrastructure across Europe, paving the way for the realisation of 6G technology. Bringing together 28 partners from academia, industry, and research organisations, the initiative aims to foster innovation, enhance connectivity, and shape the future of telecommunications.

eBOS plays a pivotal role in the project by leading the development of the SUNRISE-6G Experimentation Portal that will federate all 14 project testbeds, and the users will be able to initiate experiments. As part of the project’s testbed ecosystem, eBOS continues to enhance and expand its 6G testbed into a federated 6G infrastructure.

Additionally, eBOS oversees Quality Assurance, Risk & Data Management, and Dissemination and Communication activities, ensuring that the project delivers high-quality outcomes, maintains a strong online presence, and generates stakeholder impact. eBOS remains focused on achieving the project’s objectives while fostering collaboration across partners.
