eBOS Participates in IEEE CAMAD 2024 with Four Cutting-Edge 6G Projects

eBOS proudly participated in the International Workshop on Computer-Aided Modelling Analysis and Design of Communication Links and Networks (CAMAD). The workshop provided a forum for discussing recent developments in analytical and simulation tools and techniques for evaluating the performance of communications systems. This year’s IEEE CAMAD Workshop was held from October 21 to 23 in Athens, Greece, and eBOS contributed with the participation of four key R&D projects: SUNRISE-6G, ADROIT6G, 6G-BRICKS and 6G-INTENSE.
SUNRISE-6G special session, titled “Federation of 6G Infrastructures & Experimentation Facilities in a ‘Network of Networks’,” highlighted five key publications that explored cutting-edge developments in 6G technology. SUNRISE-6G shared its vision for the future of 6G, focusing on creating a pan-European network of test infrastructures. The project’s approach, inspired by the “network of networks” concept, integrates both public and private infrastructures, paving the way for the intelligent digital society of 2030 and beyond. Gianna Avgousti, R&D Project Manager at eBOS, participated physically in this special session.
ADROIT6G co-organised a special session on “Distributed Artificial Intelligence-Driven Open Programmable Architecture for 6G Networks.” with the CENTRIC Project. This session focused on cutting-edge research and advancements in 6G technology, integrating AI, machine learning, and open architectures to drive innovation and scalability in future networks. The special session also served as a platform to delve into the cutting-edge developments of two collaborative projects, ADROIT6G and CENTRIC, funded by Phase 1 of the SNS JU. Dr Marios Sophocleous (R&D Senior Project Manager) and Dr Eleni Keliri (R&D Project Manager) were part of the Organizing Committee of this Special Session. In addition, Gussan Mufti, AI & ML Engineer, participated physically and presented a paper titled “Intelligent Computational Offloading Using Lyapunov Optimization and Deep Reinforcement Learning”.
The 6G-BRICKS project organised a special session titled “Advancements and Innovations in 6G: Unveiling the Future of Intelligent Networks” and explored critical innovations such as intelligent edge platforms, end-to-end security solutions, and cell-free networking, which are essential for enhancing network performance and security in 6G environments. The session also covered the integration of Generative AI, highlighting its role in optimising network functions and enabling new services, as well as topics like Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RIS) and multi-band technologies. Dr Gianna Ioannou, R&D Project Manager at eBOS, was part of the organising committee of this session.
6G-INTENSE organised a special session on Intent-Based Networking (IBN). The presented papers sparked an engaging debate among researchers and industry experts. Discussions focused on fundamental IBN concepts, feasible architectures, and potential applications. Emphasis was also given on the IBN’s transformative role in Automated Network Inventory Solutions and the utility of AI models in 6G networks, addressing challenges such as security and scalability. Lastly, the critical issue of aligning innovative networks with social development goals was highlighted. eBOS’s involvement in this project is led by Vasilis Poulikakos, R&D Project Manager.
