eBOS participated in FLECON-6G Project Kick-off Meeting
On the 14th of January 2025, the FLECON-6G project, “Flexible Open Architecture and AI-driven Enabling Technologies for a Novel 6G Connectivity Platform”, held its physical kick-off meeting (KoM) in Barcelona, Spain. FLECON-6G is a 36-month EU-funded Research and Innovation Action funded under the HORIZON JU SNS programme officially started on the 1st of January 2025. The physical kick-off meeting was led by Prof. Christos Verikoukis, who represented the ISI/ATHENA research centre as the project coordinator.
The meeting was attended by 19 consortium partners. eBOS participated in the meeting with two representatives: Dr. Loizos Christofi (R&D Director) and Mr. Christos Skoufis (Deputy Head of R&D Projects). During the meeting, partners presented the project’s vision and objectives and discussed the project’s work plan, tasks, challenges, identified risks, and implementation schedules. Moreover, the project officer presented the European Commission’s expectations and guidelines.
FLECON-6G aims to revolutionise telecommunications by creating an innovative blueprint for 6G networks, built on distributed, modular, and collaborative architectures supported by trustworthy frameworks. A key component of this initiative is the integration of multi-layer network digital twins (NDTs), which enhance management and monitoring across all layers—from resource domains to control and business planes. This vision culminates in an “intelligent 6G Network of Networks,” utilising Native & Trustworthy AI to enable automated and scalable service composition. FLECON-6G seeks to improve future communication systems’ efficiency, adaptability, and resilience by encouraging collaboration among diverse stakeholders, ultimately fostering a more interconnected and responsive digital ecosystem.
Within FLECON-6G, eBOS leads the development of an innovative marketplace to expose network resources, models, and data to external providers, ensuring seamless integration with the network networks’ framework. eBOS is responsible for creating interfaces, integrating intent-based APIs, and ensuring interoperability and performance. Additionally, eBOS leads Quality Assurance and Risk
Management, overseeing project risks and outputs, as well as project’s Impact Maximisation and Outreach, including leading the Dissemination & Communication activities.
