eBOS Attends the ASTEP Month 60 Meeting and Visits the Mandrekas Case Study

eBOS proudly participated in the Month 60 General Assembly of the ASTEP project, which took place on 29–30 April 2025 in Loutraki, Greece. Representing eBOS, our R&D Project Manager, Gianna Avgousti, joined project partners for this important milestone meeting that marked the conclusion of the project’s implementation phase.

The meeting agenda included the 27th Scientific and Technical Committee (STC), where the final technical issues were discussed, including shipping the ASTEP SunDials (Solar Thermal Collector) to the two demonstration sites, Mandrekas Diary in Corinth, Greece, and ArcelorMittal Steel Company in Iasi, Romania. Partners also reviewed technical deviations and shared insights on the societal and feasibility results gathered from the implementation phase.

Two internal workshops were held during the assembly:

  • The 3rd Internal Workshop on Exploitation, where partners evaluated opportunities for future commercial uptake of the ASTEP solution led by CRES.
  • The 3rd Internal Workshop on the ASTEP Dashboard, focusing on the effective use and integration of collected data into the project’s monitoring platform, led by eBOS.

Additionally, the 9th Project Steering Committee (PSC) convened to provide a management update and align on the preparation and plan for the upcoming final review with the European Commission.

On the second day, participants had the opportunity to visit the Mandrekas dairy industry, one of the ASTEP case studies located in Corinth, Greece. The visit provided valuable insights into the real-world implementation of the ASTEP solution and its contribution to reducing carbon emissions in industrial processes.

As part of its role in the project, eBOS leads the design, development, and maintenance of the ASTEP Dashboard and the project website. Our team remains committed to delivering high-quality outputs and ensuring the visibility and impact of the ASTEP project’s innovative solar thermal technology.

The ASTEP project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement No. 884411.
