eBOS attended the plenary meeting of the HORIZON Europe project SAFE-6G

On October 2nd and 3rd 2024, the project SAFE-6G, entitled ‘Smart and Adaptive Framework for Enhancing Trust in 6G Networks’, held its 3rd physical plenary meeting in Athens, Greece, hosted by the University of West of Attica. This 36-month EU-funded Innovation Action, funded under the HORIZON Europe programme, officially started on January 1st, 2024.

Dr Zouzias Dimitris, R&D Project Manager at eBOS Technologies Ltd, attended the plenary meeting chaired by Associate Prof. Panagiotis Karkazis, representing the University of West of Attica. All 13 project partners physically participated in the meeting, with more than 30 participants also online. The meeting featured partners’ presentations on the project’s progress and future plans. Telefonica Innovation Digital, the leader of WP1 and project coordinator, kicked off the meeting by providing a short overview of the SAFE-6G activities, including updates on the project’s work plan and status, achieved milestones, submitted deliverables, challenges, and implementation schedules. With the help of the task leaders, each WP leader provided an overview of each WP’s progress. In contrast to the technical goals, the framework’s innovative points, the reference architecture design, and the implementation plan until the end of the year were presented. Through the partners’ interaction, a vivid picture of the current state of the SAFE-6G architecture was drawn, along with requirements and specifications towards the envisioned result. The current status per task was presented, including metrics needed to support its implementation efforts, needs for the development of SAFE-6G’s core interfaces, the platform’s list of Application Programming Interfaces, Machine Learning Operations integration needs, and interfaces as we are moving towards the deployment phase and finally the use-cases status.

eBOS, as the leader of Task 4.2 and in charge of developing the platform’s User-Centric Safety Function, presented a complete diagram of the function’s architecture along with the corresponding development plan by M18 and a comprehensive breakdown of the planned tasks towards reaching this goal. A proposed architecture for local Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Agents across the entire network was presented for efficient Load Distribution, Information Management and Orchestration. In addition, the interdependencies between the Safety Function, its embedded Artificial Intelligence Agent and the platform’s Machine Learning Operations were discussed and analysed to better align with the rest of the consortium’s development efforts.

SAFE-6G has received funding from the EU’s Smart Networks and Services Joint Undertaking (SNS-JU) under Grant Agreement no. 101139031.
