eBOS at the COBALT 4th Plenary Meeting in Stuttgart
On February 5th and 6th, 2025, COBALT partners gathered in Stuttgart, Germany, for the 4th project plenary meeting, hosted by Bosch Global Software Technologies (BGSG). Representing eBOS, Senior R&D Project Manager Mr. Sozos Karageorgiou and R&D Project Manager Dr. Rafaella Elia led the company’s contributions. This meeting, marking the project’s 16th month, provided an opportunity for partners from the 14 participating organizations to present achievements to date, address open issues, review project progress, and outline the next steps. The discussions primarily focused on refining the architecture, design, and technical requirements of the COBALT framework’s functional blocks as the project progressed.
The COBALT project aims to address pressing challenges in cybersecurity certification, particularly those arising from the integration of diverse modules and technologies like Industrial AI and Quantum Computing. These integrations often lead to security gaps, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies due to the absence of a unified certification model for ICT cybersecurity.
To overcome these issues, COBALT will introduce Continuous Certification functionality by leveraging Digital Twinning (DT). This approach will enable the modelling, analysis, and certification of processes across various sectors, ensuring that certifying the digital twin also effectively certifies its physical counterpart. Additionally, the project will tackle certification in Quantum Computing and AI by evaluating current practices and methodologies. The developed framework will be demonstrated through cutting-edge pilot use cases, focusing on Industrial AI, Quantum technologies, and ICT infrastructure.
eBOS oversees the efforts to maximize the impact of COBALT’s outcomes by conducting market analyses, defining strategic approaches, ensuring socio-economic sustainability, and developing ecosystem business models. Furthermore, eBOS also leads the dissemination, communication, and awareness campaigns while contributing to standardization and strengthening European cybersecurity certification. Additionally, eBOS will play a key role in designing techniques for assessing and managing risks associated with the target of evaluation throughout its lifecycle and will also contribute to the development of the COBALT Continuous Certification Toolkit and support the integration of the COBALT ecosystem. Moreover, eBOS will actively participate in demonstrations within the Industrial AI and Quantum domains, highlighting the benefits of the COBALT unified certification framework.
