Overview
As small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) pursue digital transformation, their need for cybersecurity increases dramatically. Unlike larger corporations, they often lack the resources to implement robust long-term cybersecurity measures, and with the constant adoption of new technologies, new entry points for potential cyber-attacks are created increasing their vulnerability to security breaches. Additionally, SMEs often lack access to frameworks that facilitate risk classification and compliance with existing regulations. Consequently, many SMEs lack a systematic approach for ensuring cybersecurity and when faced with cyber-attacks struggle to recover. The impact of these incidents is substantial, leading to financial losses, reputational damage, client losses, recruitment challenges, and difficulties in securing new business.
CyberSuite aims to address these challenges by streamlining the design, configuration, deployment, and management of cybersecurity services, catering to SMEs lacking dedicated cybersecurity resources. The project will provide an easily accessible marketplace, where SMEs can securely and privately access tailored cybersecurity services. This will be a unified platform encompassing diverse cybersecurity tools and services that collaborate effectively, ensuring integration and interoperability, and including support measures for both the supply and demand sides.
Objectives
Conduct trials on a series of pre-existing services and tools resulting from publicly funded research in the EU to raise awareness about cybersecurity among SMEs.
Establish a network merging technology and commerce, stressing harmony, collaboration in diverse cybersecurity activities.
Build platforms for better communication among stakeholders, fostering knowledge exchange.
Find opportunities to enhance the cybersecurity ecosystem by integrating tools for increased value.
Implement established development methodologies and standards within European, national, and regional cybersecurity contexts.
Enhance joint responses to cybersecurity incidents for technology providers and users using information-sharing platforms and user-friendly dashboards for collaboration and incident information exchange.
eBOS Role in the Project
Within CyberSuite, eBOS will lead the standardisation, roadmap development, and commercialisation of the CyberSuite marketplace and its solutions on a global scale, targeting TRL9 and CRL9 levels. This will include monitoring competitors and identifying viable business models to deliver effective, affordable cybersecurity solutions. eBOS will conduct a thorough market and regulatory analysis, covering technological trends, risk, ethics, systemic efficiency, and critical market gaps, which will inform strategic decisions. Additionally, eBOS will develop and implement a detailed dissemination and communication plan to maximise outreach and engagement with key audiences and stakeholders. This will include establishing communication channels, promoting solution adoption, and managing content for the project’s website and marketplace. The website will act as the central hub for all project activities and marketing efforts. eBOS will also be responsible for developing the Business Model and overseeing the implementation and management frameworks for Technology Readiness Level (TRL), Commercial Readiness Level (CRL), and Innovation Readiness Level (IRL). Finally, eBOS will seek funding opportunities for the commercialisation of mature solutions.
