COGNIFOG Partners Meet in Paris for the 7th Plenary and General Assembly Meeting, Hosted by CEA
On 26–27 November 2025, the COGNIFOG consortium gathered at CEA’s facilities in Palaiseau, Paris, for its 7th Plenary and General Assembly Meeting. The two-day session brought together all partners to prepare for the upcoming project review, address final technical challenges, and align the remaining activities as the project approaches its final phase.
Day 1 opened with a presentation of project-wide achievements, followed by dedicated trial workshops covering the three pilots: Urban Management (Trial 1), E-Health (Trial 2), and Smart Manufacturing (Trial 3). Each trial session included a detailed presentation and focused technical discussion, ensuring alignment on deployment readiness, data flows, and performance evaluation. The day concluded with a social dinner that encouraged team bonding and further collaboration.
Day 2 focused on work package updates, with partners presenting progress across architecture design, framework development, integration and testing, validation, and impact creation. Demonstrations included the eBOS dashboard backend, the Slice Manager and Orchestrator, as well as IoT data flow and orchestration capabilities. The agenda also covered standardisation, ethics, risk management, and overall project coordination. The meeting closed with a synthesis session to consolidate next steps ahead of the review.
COGNIFOG aims to develop an AI-powered Edge Cloud Continuum for cognitive computing environments, enabling data to be processed closer to its source. This approach improves privacy, responsiveness, security, and dependability for smart IoT applications operating across distributed environments. By bridging fragmented edge, fog, and cloud resources, COGNIFOG delivers an interoperable, scalable, and intelligent computing architecture capable of supporting next-generation digital services across multiple sectors.
eBOS is leading the impact creation strategy of the COGNIFOG project, with responsibilities spanning stakeholder engagement, communication, dissemination, and market adoption. On the technical front, eBOS contributes significantly to the application layer development, including:
- Designing and implementing a user-centric front-end dashboard
- Developing APIs to facilitate third-party integrations
- Training AI/ML models for real-time anomaly detection and secure data handling
With its strong background in AI, software engineering, and cybersecurity, eBOS is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of cognitive IoT systems through its contributions to the COGNIFOG platform.
