Overview
The path towards 6G is beginning now that 5G matured and is being deployed worldwide both publicly and privately. While 5G brought a step up in many fields, such as performance and efficiency, more is always expected in terms of efficiency by the overall community and in terms of performance by industry and technology providers who want to further increase their offerings and products. Continuous demands for higher throughput, lower latency and more energy efficient communications needs to be supported by relevant use cases that can claim and demonstrate the needs for these requests.
6G-PATH aims to foster the development and integration of new tools and products from EU companies with 5G/6G, while also measuring relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) and key value indicators (KVIs). To achieve this, seven testbeds will be used by ten use cases spread across four key verticals: Health, Education, Smart Cities and Farming. Through Financial Support for Third Parties, 6G-PATH will involve the community and obtain additional metrics. 6G-PATH will work closely with other 6G-IA projects, from which innovations will be deployed and tested within the 6G-PATH framework. Results and outcomes will be shared between projects to further cement the innovation being made.
Objectives
Setup the 6G-PATH experiment and validation infrastructure and evolve it into B5G/6G experimental infrastructures and pre-normative testbeds.
Deliver and refine a transversal integration and experimentation platform.
Expand user community and implement large scale field trials with internal and external experiments, through Open Calls.
Collect and refine of requirements stemming from Stream B and verticals.
Devise leading-edge business models towards the commercialisation and exploitation of 6G-PATH use cases and technologies.
Disseminate and communicate results to a wide community of stakeholders while ensuring impact on standardisation efforts.
Create repositories for both open knowledge transfer and supporting the subsequent phases of the Smart Networks and Services (SNS) programme.
eBOS Role in the Project
As the Communication Manager of the 6G-PATH project, eBOS Technologies plays a multifaceted role, combining technical innovation with strategic outreach. The company is responsible for developing the experimentation dashboard and designing the northbound APIs to enable seamless communication between internal and external applications within the 6G-PATH platform. In addition, eBOS oversees Quality Assurance and Risk Management activities to ensure the consistency and reliability of project outcomes. Within the project’s Dissemination, Commercialisation, and Standardisation Work Package, eBOS coordinates communication efforts, maintains the project website, and drives stakeholder engagement. Leveraging its active participation in key European technology alliances and clusters, such as 6G-IA, SNS JU, AIOTI, BDVA/DAIRO, NGI, NESSI, and NetWorld Europe, eBOS also contributes to the project’s long-term impact through targeted dissemination and sustainability planning.
