3C4AI Consortium Gathers in Athens for its 1st Plenary Meeting
The 3C4AI – Intelligent Service, Resource and Data Management Platform for Optimized AI Workloads across the Multi-Provider Cognitive Computing Continuum project held its 1st Plenary Meeting on 16-17 September 2026 in Athens, Greece, bringing together the consortium to review and coordinate ongoing activities, and align on the technical roadmap for the months ahead.
3C4AI is developing an open, standards-driven platform for the trustworthy and efficient deployment and management of distributed AI and Generative AI workloads across the cloud-edge-HPC continuum. The project combines federated orchestration, cognitive workload optimisation, secure data sharing, hardware abstraction, trust mechanisms, and GenAI-based intent management to support AI services across multiple infrastructure domains and providers.
The project will validate its technologies through five complementary use cases:
- Urban Digital Twin for Airborne Logistics, supporting AI-enabled drone operations and city-scale digital-twin services.
- Telco-Native AI Integration for Cognitive Continuum, exploring dynamic resource allocation and energy-aware AI deployment across telecom infrastructures.
- AI-Driven Intra-Logistics Port Operations, addressing teleoperation, asset tracking, and on-demand network and compute resources.
- AI-Driven Battery Management, applying AI and GenAI to battery monitoring, fault detection, federated learning, and root-cause analysis.
- Agentic AI for Cross-Domain Legal Conformance, providing AI-supported regulatory monitoring, compliance validation, and explainable guidance across the project’s vertical domains.
During the two-day meeting, partners discussed the project’s technical roadmap, platform and use case requirements, system architecture, validation clusters, and implementation activities. Day 1 focused on the 3C4AI platform architecture and ecosystem, use case requirements, the four Multi-Domain Clusters, and dissemination, communication, exploitation and standardisation activities. Day 2 concentrated on the core orchestration platform, AI workload-management modules, application-sector validation, and project management. The meeting also included a presentation from the EU Project Officer and discussions on the project’s next steps and upcoming milestones.
eBOS contributed to the plenary by presenting its upcoming technical activities and its plans for communication, exploitation, and standardisation. Through these efforts, eBOS will support both the development of the 3C4AI platform and the wider visibility, uptake, and long-term impact of the project’s results.
The 1st Plenary Meeting strengthened coordination across the consortium, aligning partners across the project’s technical and validation activities. Over the coming months, 3C4AI will focus on refining its requirements and reference architecture while advancing the development and integration of its core orchestration, data management, trust, optimisation, and hardware abstraction capabilities.
eBOS will play a key role in the 3C4AI project by contributing to both its technical development and strategic impact. From a technical perspective, eBOS will lead activities focused on enabling secure and trusted collaboration across distributed computing environments, supporting reliable cross-domain interaction within the 3C4AI platform. In parallel, eBOS will contribute to the project’s dissemination, exploitation, innovation and IPR activities, helping identify opportunities for the sustainable uptake and future use of project results. eBOS will also support the assessment of the project’s business, socio-economic and market impact, contributing to the long-term sustainability and adoption of 3C4AI solutions.
